Oprah You Get A comes from the season premiere of The Oprah Winfrey Show on 13 September 2004, when Oprah gave every one of the 276 people in her studio audience a new car, pointing and shouting “You get a car! You get a car! Everybody gets a car!” A still of her mid-shout, arms flung wide, became an image macro in the following years and remains the go-to format for generosity at excessive scale.
