About the Roll Safe meme
Roll Safe is British actor and comedian Kayode Ewumi playing Reece Simpson, a would-be ladies' man nicknamed “Roll Safe”, in the comedy web series #HoodDocumentary (2016). In one scene he grins and taps his temple with a finger. In January 2017 that frame went viral on Twitter paired with “think about it” advice that sounds smart and is actually terrible.
The format is a piece of flawless-but-stupid logic split into a condition and a conclusion: “You can't be late for work… if you never leave work.” The setup sounds like a problem, the punchline is the loophole. Lines that are technically correct are funnier than lines that are just wrong — the tapped temple only works if there is a twisted kind of sense behind it.
