About the Is This a Pigeon? meme
Is This a Pigeon? is a frame from a 1991 episode of the anime The Brave Fighter of Sun Fighbird, in which an android who has just arrived on Earth points at a butterfly and asks whether it is a pigeon. The subtitled screenshot had a small following from 2011, then exploded in 2018 as an object-label template about confidently misidentifying things.
It has three parts: a label for the person doing the pointing, a label for the butterfly, and the bottom question that shows how badly they have got it wrong. It is perfect for jokes about people who see everything through one lens — the marketer who calls every image “content”, the manager who calls every problem “an opportunity”.
