About the Inhaling Seagull meme
Inhaling Seagull comes from a short video of a seagull rearing back with its beak open, as if taking an enormous breath, and then shrieking. A two-frame version — the calm inhale on top, the scream below with a red glow added — spread widely in 2018, most famously captioned with the opening of “All Star” by Smash Mouth.
The format is a build-up and an explosion. The small top caption is a quiet first syllable or the start of a phrase; the bottom caption is the rest of it, all at once, usually shouted. It suits anything you say too loudly: song lyrics, the name of a coworker who just walked in with snacks, “FRIDAY”.

Inhaling Seagull questions
Why is the first caption so small?
It's the inhale — a single quiet syllable or word. All the volume goes in the bottom line.
Is the scream line meant to be capitals?
Yes, usually in all caps with stretched letters (“FRIIIIDAY”). The editor keeps your capitalisation as typed.
