About the Two Buttons meme
Two Buttons — sometimes titled Daily Struggle after the comic it came from — shows a sweating man in a superhero-style outfit agonising over which of two red buttons to press. The panel is from a 2014 webcomic by artist Jake Clark; the version with blank buttons spread on Reddit and Imgur around 2017 and has been the go-to “impossible choice” template since.
The joke is a dilemma. The two buttons hold options that are contradictory, equally tempting, or equally bad, and the bottom caption identifies who is sweating over them. It is the template for hypocrisy (“wants to be healthy” vs “the whole pizza is right there”), corporate double-speak, and any situation where you want both things at once.
